3/5 stars :: Thanks for the info - I will not buy the product

I had versions 6, 7 and 8 and now I have a new computer, so I thought I would start clean with version 9. However, the Nuance web site is not informative (it shows a features comparison between the various levels, but no explanation of what those features mean). Also, there is no place to search.

I recall spending hours trying to discover how to get v. 8 to insert spaces when inserting text (no, the obvious "NOSPACES OFF" does not work for that purpose). Without a usable knowledgebase and $10/question for e-mail support, I think I am better off just continuing to type (I won't even bother reinstalling v. 8, even though I paid for it).

I feel sorry for the rest of you.

4/5 stars :: Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9.5 "read that" feature is very poor!

The product itself appears to be pretty good, but before starting the program I highly recommend at least giving a half hour training. As for the read that feature, it's horrible! I understand that the main feature of this program is for writing what you dictate, but seeing as it does offer a read back feature, I think it is just uncalled for how garbled the read back voice is. A product this advanced should not have such a poorly written feature such as this. Other than that, it seems to dictate what I say fairly decent. At first, I didn't do so, but after a little more training and word corrections, it seems to work pretty good.

My advice to anyone using this program is to remember to speak freely, don't wait for the program to catch up to what you're saying. I don't know why, but it seems to work better that way. Just remember, the more you train the program, the more accurate the results will be.

If it wasn't for the garbled voice read back, I would have given it five stars. I still would highly recommend this program to anyone.

1/5 stars :: Impossible to rate fairly

I purchased this on 9-15-07 with their 30 day money back guarantee. When I recieved the product the return policy says software must be unopened to recieve full refund. Rather than risk losing 20% I just returned it. They have acknowledged recieving it but to this day I have not reieved my refund. Have inquired twice and no results
