I bought this movie for my 5 year old daughter, as she is too old for Princesses and too young for some of the other stuff out there. She LOVES it, and will be getting the CD for Christmas

I have two girls ages 6 and 7. Their mother was actually a member of her neighbor-hood Annie fan club. I know, you are thinking "How old is this guy if he has young kids and his wife was in and Annie fan club." Don't worry, I'm not like Tony Randal or anything. I'm in my early thirty's and so is my wife. Apparently though they still had Annie fan clubs in the early 80's. But, I digress; anyway, when my girls started asking for this movie my wife asked me to pick up a copy for our Friday family movie night.

All I can say is that within 10 minutes I was looking for a mallet to pound my left nut with to relieve the pain caused by this movie. Within 20 minutes I began to entertain notions of suicide by the most painfull means in order to distract myself from the torture. Guys, DON'T GET SUCKED INTO BUYING THIS MOVIE LIKE I DID. LEARN FROM MY SUFFERING!!!

Also, don't think you can get by with buying it for your kids and just not watch it. Believe me, you will still suffer. Why you ask? Because your kids will go around singing the songs for weeks thereafter. Not the whole songs mind you just the annoying high pitched choruses.

I grew up watching this movie and have always loved it, but when I recently bought it for my 2 year old son I realized how inappropriate it is for young children. I didn't think about the storyline, which is about an alcoholic running an orphanage who tries to seduce any man that comes for a visit. I would save this one for older children...
